Education

To administer the government schools there is a district level committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner as Chair Person and Deputy Development Commissioner as Vice Chair Person. The District Superintendent of Education is Member Secretary who is responsible to enhance and promote quality education within the district. The blocks are the small units to control and monitor the educational set up, which are divided into education circles, which are headed by the Block Education Extension Officer (BEEO). By joining three adjoining blocks one Area or Range has been constituted. There are three Ranges in the district namely Dhanbad , Baghmara and Govindpur , headed by one Range Education Officer for each of range. The structure of the Range is as below:-

The blocks have been divided in to educational circles and the specific geographical area has been allocated to each BEEO. The DSE has been supported by two sub-ordinate education service officers, known as Deputy Superintendent of Education, thus the Education Administration is near about at its full strength in the district
