CIGARETTES AND OTHER TOBACCO PRODUCTS ACT (COTPA) ACT 2003
SECTION 4 – Smoking is prohibited in public places violation may lead to a fine up to rupees 200. Owners of Hotels, Restaurants, Cinema Hall, Malls etc. should display No Smoking Board on 60cm x30cm board.
SECTION 5 – Ban on direct or indirect advertisement of Tobacco Products. Shops selling Tobacco Products should display 60cmx45cm board showing Tobacco Causes Cancer. Violation may lead to fine from rupees 1000-rupees 5000 or imprisonment 10-5 year
SECTION 6(a) – Prohibition of sale of Tobacco Products to minor below 18 years age. Shops should display board showing sales of Tobacco Product to below 18 years is Punishable.
SECTION 6(b) – Sale of tobacco Products within 100 yard of Education Institution is punishable. Violation may lead to Fine up to rupees 200.
